Lucmayor (Llucmajor) lies in beautiful surroundings, of which the Bahía de Pi is the most popular. The nearby fortifications of Santanyí are a reminder of the time when pirates from the neighboring island of Cabrera frequently attacked the town. The old town-gate, known as Porta Murada, has been beautifully preserved.
