Manzini was formerly known as Bremersdorp. It started as a trading post in 1885. From 1890 to 1902, Manzini used to be the combined administrative center for both the British and the Boers. During the subsequent Anglo-Boer War the Boers flattened the town almost entirely.

Nowadays it has grown into a large city that has become the industrial heart of Eswatini. The city center is very compact and easily explored on foot. It is very different from the rest of the country.

Drivers around Manzini are reckless and gangs make the streets dangerous at night.

There is a market in Manzini on Thursdays and Fridays.

There is a lot of accommodation in Manzini and there are also many places where you can eat. Manzini is located in the center of Eswatini, 30 km southeast of Mbabane. It is connected to the capital by bus and taxi services.
