Mbaïki
Mbaïki, also spelled Mbaki or M'Baiki, sits in a timber and coffee growing area, 100 km southwest of Bangui, and is the home of the Lobaye people and pygmies. There are some smaller pygmy settlements in the area that are popular tourist destinations.
Ebony can be purchased in Ábonistes, 10 km (6 miles) northeast of Mbaïki, where the men in the village carve the ebony. You will have to bargain hard for a decent price. The small waterfall near Mbaïki is also worth a visit.
Mbaïki is served by bush taxi from Bangui.
