Monuriki Island (Modriki Island)
Monuriki is an uninhabited coral island that is part of the Mamanuca Islands. It is also known as Modriki Island and it is quite small. The island only measures 0.4 km² (100 acres). The highest point is 178 m (584 ft).
There are several nice white sand beaches and the surrounding reefs are perfect for scuba-diving and snorkeling.
Monuriki is located off the coast of Viti Levu. The island was the location where the movie Cast Away was filmed.
If you want to visit Monuriki, you will first have to visit the island of Yanuya for a sevu sevu ceremony. You will also have to pay a fee for landing at Monuriki.
