The Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve, or Mwabvi Game Reserve, covers less than 350 km² (135 sq mi) in the southernmost tip of Malawi, straddling the border with Mozambique. The reserve consists of a hilly wilderness, with sandstone ridges, rocky gorges, little streams and mopane woodland.

The scenery is spectacular and there are great views over the Shire and Zambezi Rivers, but because of its remote location and small size it is rarely visited. As a result it has been neglected and poachers have erased some of the wildlife in the reserve.

Nevertheless, there are still populations of kudu, sable, impala and nyala. Leopards, lions and hyenas have been spotted there as well.

You will need your own transportation to get there, but even then it is not easy. The entrance gate is on the main road between Chikwawa and Nsanje. There is one lodge and a campsite.
