Nioumachoua (Nyumashiwa)
photo

Nioumachoua, or Nyumashiwa, is the second-largest city on the island of Mohéli. It is located in the south of the island and it is a good place to stay if you want to visit the islands of the Nyumashiwa Archipelago. Fishermen from Nioumachoua will bring you to the islands after you give them some money. Don't forget to arrange a time to pick you up again.

There is a coral reef off the coast from Nioumachoua, which is excellent for scuba-diving and snorkeling.

You can get to Nioumachoua by taxi-brousse from Fomboni.
