Parque Nacional Alerce Andino (Alerce Andino National Park)

The Parque Nacional Alerce Andino (Alerce Andino National Park) is also referred to as Los Alerces. It covers 393 km² of mountainous terrain in the Los Lagos region in the south of Chile. The park contains some 50 lakes. It is bounded by Chapo Lake in the north and the Reloncaví Estuary to the east and south.

Large parts of the park are covered in forests. The Chaicas river runs through the park. It features several scenic waterfalls. A variety of animals live in the park.

Alerce Andino National Park is located in the Andes mountains, 910 km south of Santiago. It is one of the parks included in the Bosques Templados Lluviosos de los Andes Australes (Reserve of Temperate Rain Forest Biospheres of the Southern Andes).

Puerto Montt is a good place to stay if you want to visit Alerce Andino National Park.
