Qīng Hǎi Hú (Qinghai Lake) is about 140 km west of Qinghai's capital of Xining. It is the largest lake in China and home to the rare black-necked crane, as well as several other bird species that feed on the lake's abundance of fish. Qinghai Lake is about 3200 m above sea level.
