Rehoboth
The town of Rehoboth was established as a Rhenish mission station in 1844. It was abandoned 20 years later, but the Basters ('bastards') revived it in the 1870's. The Basters are a proud ethnic group of mixed Khoi-Khoi/Afrikaner origin.
In town you will find the Reho Spa complex. It is built around a thermal spring and the baths are relaxing and refreshing. A small museum is housed in the residence of the first postmaster, built in 1903.
There are several hotels and restaurants in Rehoboth, but most people prefer to stay in Windhoek, which is only 85 km to the north.
