Reserva de Producción Faunística Cuyabeno (Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve)
photo

The Reserva de Producción Faunística Cuyabeno, or Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, boasts some of Ecuador's most unusual wildlife. It is Ecuador's second-largest national park and it was established in 1979. The park includes a series of periodically inundated forests, lakes and creeks. Usually regions near the Andes Mountains are well drained, but the Reserva de Producción Faunística Cuyabeno consists of a poorly drained area.

The park is in the northeastern part of Ecuador's Oriente region. Adjacent to it is the Yasuní National Park
