Sefrou is a small Berber town 190 km east of Rabat. The town is surrounded by fertile farm lands and olive groves. Sefrou is best known for its historical Jewish population and its annual cherry festival.
The gorge of the Oued Aggaï splits the town in two. On one side of the gorge is the medina, while the mellah is on the other side. There are several bridges across the gorge. The most convenient exit/entry points are Bab Taksebt, Bab Zemghila and Bab Merba.
If you follow Avenue Moulay Hassan over the bridge and turn left at the first junction, you will get to a waterfall. At the junction it is signposted 'Cascades', follow the road to El Kelâa (ksour) and then walk along the river. The waterfall is about 1 km from town.
There are several hotels and a camping ground in Sefrou. There are some restaurants near the covered market. Sefrou has good bus connections with the rest of Morocco.
