Sematan (Simatan)
Sematan is also known as Simatan. It is a small fishing town in Malaysia's Sarawak region. Sematan sits on the South China Sea and its beaches are reasonably clean. At the northern end is a park that commemorates early Malay fishermen.
Accommodation is available in Sematan and there are several restaurants. Sematan is only 67 km (42 mi) northwest of Kuching, but the drive can take up to 2 hours.
