Sigatoka is a farming town in the south of Fiji's Viti Levu Island. Sigatoka is the service town for the Coral Coast resorts.
There is a large mosque, as well as a market where all sorts of foodstuffs are sold. On a hill behind the town is a strange-looking fantasy-style mansion. Sigatoka's skyline is dominated by an ornate Hare Krishna Temple.
Sigatoka is a good base for exploring the Sigatoka Sand Dunes near the village of Kulukulu, 2 km northwest of town, as well as the Sigatoka Valley and the rest of Viti Levu's southern coast. Kula Eco Park is home to more than 100 different bird species.
Sigatoka is the main center of Fiji's coastal tourism belt and there are countless hotels, resorts and restaurants in town. Sigatoka sits at the mouth of the Sigatoka River, which is Fiji's second-largest river. The town is 100 km west of Suva.
