Songsong is the second-largest village on the island of Rota. It is a laid-back place with no traffic lights or shopping centers. Songsong is littered with latte stones. The San Francisco de Borja Church is one of the town's major constructions. Its bell was manufactured at the end of the 19th century.
Songsong sits at the base of a peninsula, on the southwestern side of Rota. At the tip of the peninsula is Mount Taipingot, which rises some 143 m (470 ft) above sea level. It is also known as Wedding Cake Mountain, because of its shape. You can hike to an overlook just northeast of town for good views over Songsong. It is also possible to get there by 4WD.
For even better views of Songsong, you should walk to Tweksberry Beach and follow the trail up to Mount Taipingot. Tweksberry Beach has white-coral sands and is excellent for swimming.
Accommodation and eateries are available in Songsong. The town is on the island's southern coast, 135 km south of Garapan.
