There is not a whole lot to see in the port city of Suez, but there are many hotels and restaurants, so it is possible to stay there. It is interesting watching the ships entering the Suez Canal.

Suez sits on the Red Sea, at the southern end of the Suez Canal. It is the contemporary successor of the ancient city of Clysma. Suez has excellent rail and road connections with the rest of Egypt.
