Tahoua is 380 km northeast of Niamey, on the main route towards the Aïr Mountains and the Ténéré Desert.

There is a market on Sundays, and a nice park, but other than that there is little of interest, despite it being Niger's fourth largest city.

There is a camping in Taoua, as well as several hotels and restaurants.
