Tajhat is the location of the historic Tajhat Palace, which is also known as Tajhat Rajbari. The whitewashed palace is home to the Rangpur Museum. The palace has 2 storeys and a broad staircase in the center.

Tajhat used to be a separate town, but nowadays, it is on the outskirts of Rangpur, some 6 km from the city center.
