Taman Hutan Raya Bung Hatta (Bung Hatta Grand Forest Park) is a primary forest nature reserve, not far from the town of Solok. The reserve sits at an altitude of 1,000 m above sea level. The cool mountain air and panoramic views make this area a popular resort for both the young and old.

The reserve was originally established as the Setia Mulya Botanical Gardens, which opened in 1955. It then covered 240 ha. In the 1980s, the park was expanded to its current 70,000 ha and in 1991, it was re-established as the forest reserve.

Bung Hatta Grand Forest Park boasts innumerable varieties of exotic flora. It is home to monkeys and other indigenous animals that are protected by the Park Warden.
