Taman Nasional Gunung Rinjani (Gunung Rinjani National Park)

Gunung Rinjani National Park was established in 1997 to protect the area around Gunung Rinjani (Mount Rinjani)Mount Rinjani. The park covers 41,330 hectares (159.6 sq mi), but there is a buffer zone of protected forest around the park, which is even larger, covering 66,000 hectares (250 sq mi).

The park is popular for hiking and trekking and trips to the volcano's rim are available in Matanam, which is the largest city on Lombok.

The park is home to a number of endemic plant and animal species.

Gunung Rinjani National Park covers moet of northern Lombok.
