The Tobago Cays consist of the 5 small uninhabited islands of Petit Rameau, Petit Bateau, Baradal, Petit Tabac and Jamesby, as well as numerous coral reefs at the southern end of the Grenadines. The Tobago Cays boast clear, turquoise waters, which are excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving.

The largest coral reefs in the area are located on shallow shelves around the windward sides of the inhabited island of Mayreau and Union Island, as well as the Tobago Cays themselves.

The islands themselves are dry and rocky and the only vegetation are cacti and thorny shrubs. They feature many excellent, white sand beaches and small coves. On Petit Rameau is a small mangrove forest.

The Tobago Cays are protected as a national park called the Tobago Cays Marine Park. Apart from the Tobago Cays, the national park also includes the inhabited island of Mayreau and the 4 km long Horseshoe Reef.

Tours to the cays are available from Clifton on Union Island, but can also be booked in the country's capital.

The Tobago Cays are 60 km south of Kingstown.
