Touggourt
There is absolutely nothing in this unbearably hot oasis town. There are two more towns in the oasis that are worth a visit though. There is some accommodation in Touggourt.
Tammelhat lies 12 km to the south on the edge of a palmeraie. Most houses are made of mud-bricks and there is a small mosque.
Temacine is built around a fortified stronghold known as ksar, on a small hill.
Both towns are served by public transport from the Touggourt bus station, on the west of town.
