Umm Salal Ali (أم صلال علي)
photo

Umm Salal Ali is known for its grave mounds. It is thought that the mounds are from pre-Islamic times, as Islam forbids cairn burials. Archaeologists think these mounds date from around 3000 BC. It is well worth the effort to visit this mound field if you've never seen one.

Some other sites in Umm Salal Ali include the Central Fish Market and the Brazan Girls Center, which was established in 2008 and offers activities for young girls such as sewing classes, seminars and theater.

There is no accommodation in Umm Salal Ali. The town is 25 km (16 miles) northwest of ad-Dauha (Doha).
