Wabag is a town in the center of one of the most heavily furrowed mountain ranges in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The road that leads to the town climbs to almost 3000 m (9840 feet) and the views along the way are spectacular. Numerous PNG artists have moved to the area around Wabag and their works are often displayed in the local gallery.
Accommodation in the form of lodgings, built out of bush materials is available in Wabag. The town is on the Lai River, some 595 km northwest of Port Moresby.
