Alanya

Alanya is 115 km (71 miles) east of Antalya. It is a main tourist place filled with hotels and pensions. There are two very good beaches, which offer all sorts of water-sports. In the summer season it gets very busy with tourists.

An hour walk will take you to the castle on top of a rock formation. The castle can be visited after a small entrance fee is paid, and provides good views over the surrounding area. At the base of the rock various caves can be visited. Other caves inaccessible from land can be visited by boats that leave from the small port.

Since Alanya is a main tourist center all sorts of attractions are available. Especially in the harbor area and on the beaches, parasailing, water-skiing, scuba-diving, bungee-jumping, river rafting and trips to all sights in the area are widely promoted.

Combine all this with a nearly unlimited choice in restaurants, bars and discos and incredibly polite and friendly people; and you are likely to come back to Alanya once you've visited it.
