The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is one of Tasmania's three largest protected areas. The three parks have been declared some of the last temperate wilderness areas in the world and are included in the World Heritage List.

The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is in the southwest of Tasmania and includes the peak of Mount Ossa, which is some 155 km northwest of Hobart and 760 km southwest of Canberra. The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, features the most legendary bush-walk in Australia, being the five- or six-day long Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair Overland Track.
