Gheos
Hula Valley Nature Reserve

The beautiful Hula Valley is a unique wetlands wildlife sanctuary in the narrow strip of land between the Golan Heights and the border with Lebanon in northern Israel. In the reserve, boar, jungle cats, pelicans, otters and sea eagles roam, while wild papyrus grows abundantly. The Hula Valley is an important migratory station for birds coming from as far as Scandinavia, Russia and India.

At the reserve's visitors' center, binoculars are for rent and explanations about the regions flora and fauna are available. In the southern part of the reserve, a Jewish settlement from the end of the 19th century has been reconstructed.
