Saint Francis River
The Saint Francis River rises in the hills of southeastern Missouri and flows south through northeastern Arkansas to join the Mississippi River near Helena, Arkansas. The river forms part of the Arkansas-Missouri border. Wappapello Dam, near Poplar Bluff, Montana, forms a reservoir. The dam was completed in 1941. The river area is popular for recreational activities. Saint Francis River is 760 km (470 miles) long.
