Dynasty was made up of producer/label head Dick Griffey, Leon Sylvers, bass-player Kevin Spencer and vocalists Nidra Beard and Linda Carriere. They have only ever had one Billboard top ten hit; 'I've just begun to love', which reached number 6 in 1980. Dynasty continued recording for Solar through the 1980's, but they never registered any other major hits. In 1981, Leon Sylvers joined them, but this didn't change the situation. They remained with Solar until 1988.
