Gene Rice was born in Baltimore in 1950. He released his first album entitled "Just for you" in 1991. It was a collection of contemporary soul tracks and earned solid reviews. It entered the Billboard R&B charts as well. Stan Sheppard produced two of the albums best tracks, "You're gonna get served" and "You're a victim". In 1993, Gene released his second album, which included the club hits "Come a little closer" (produced by Chuckii Booker)and "Don't walk away" (produced by Stan Sheppard). That album was his last release for RCA.
