James Robinson's musical career is impressive. He has sung guest lead vocals with artists such as Norman Connors and Lonnie Liston Smith. He replaced Luther Vandross in Change and sang lead vocals on numerous of their songs. He signed a solo contract with Tabu Records in 1987 and recorded his album "Guilty". Other artists he has recorded with include Jeff Lorber and Lenny White. In 1995, Robinson teamed up with Mark Johnson to record "Daydream", a track that became very popular with London's radio station Jazz FM. In 2001, he joined jazz keyboard artist Bob Baldwin for more recordings.
