magnumforce

The band Magnum Force originated from Chicago and was best known for the steppers' classic 'Share my love' and the house classic 'Cool out'. The band was founded in 1982, using the name Seville and they had build a reputation for giving exciting live shows. The original members of Magnum Force were brothers Rick and Rory Sizemore and Nate Williams. The brothers handled bass and keyboards and Williamds sang lead vocals. Later, the band expanded to seven members and included a horn section. Encouraged by friends and family, they decided to go into the studio to record some tracks. Magnum Force went in with no previous studio experience and came out with three song demos. One of those demos was written by Rick and Rory and called 'Share my love'. While they were trying to get a record deal, a family friend got them in contact with Chi-Lites producer Carl Davis. The track 'Share my love' was released on Davis' Chi-Sound Records subsidiary label Kelli-Arts and sold over 40,000 copies in the Chicagoland area alone. It received airplay in other markets and charted nationally. The album was licensed for a U.K. release by Virgin Records.
