Precious Wilson was born in Jamaica and spent her childhood in England. Later she moved to Connecticut, where she sang gospel as a teen. When she returned to England, Wilson joined the Silent Eruption. The band's name was changed to Eruption and scored several hits, produced by Frank Farlan. Precious Wilson started her solo career in the 1980's. Her single "I'll be your friend" reached the R&B Top 40 in America and was even more popular in numerous other countries.
