Maureen Reilette Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on 29 May 1950. She was the eldest member of the nine Jackson kids and she was kept very much out of the spotlight, as far as a recording career is concerned. In 1984, Rebbie (pronounced 'ree-bee') signed to CBS to release her first album. Before that, she had already worked in show business, performing as a cabaret and session singer or in some TV productions. During that period she worked with people such as Betty Wright, The Emotions and Lynda Carter. Rebbie was a part of the 'Jacksons Family TV Show' too. In 1984, one year after signing up with CBS, Rebbie released her first album, which was called 'Centipede'. The title track was written and produced by her little brother Michael Jackson. Rebbie released two more albums on CBS; 'Reaction' in 1986 and 'R U Tuff Enuff' in 1988. In 1991, Rebbie signed to Motown Records, but this contract didn't produce any releases. Later a record called 'Rebbie Jackson Collection' was released on Sony/Expansion. It included the best tracks taken from her previous releases. In 1998, after signing to Michael Jacksons MJJ Productions, Rebbie released her fourth album titled 'Yours faithfully'. It contained, amongst others, a duet with Michael called 'Fly Away'. The only single taken from 'Yours Faithfully' was the title track.
