Rockie Robbins was born in Minneapolis, U.S.A. He developed his love for music from the record-shop his uncle runned there. When Rockie was a teenager, he joined a group called The Mystics. He sent a demo of his voice to A & M Records in Los Angeles and was signed almost immediately. Rockie released 2 albums for the label. After he completed the second album, he moved to Los Angeles and switched to the MCA label. He released his self-titled third album on MCA. Four years later he switched to Respect records.
