sherrick
Sherrick was the lead singer of the Motown group Kagny from Los Angeles. They recorded a track for the Motown movie The Last Dragon. Sherrick had worked on numerous Motown somgs as a background singer. He started his solo career after Raynoma Gordy, the former wife of Motown founder Berry Gordy, secured him a record deal with Warner Brothers. On that label, Sherrick released his 1987 debut album, which was produced by Michael Stokes. The album included the singles "Just call" and "Let's be lovers tonight".
During the 1990's, Sherrick had not been recording much for mysterious reasons (some speculate that Sherrick had drug-related problems), but at the end of that decade, he had just started to put together some new songs, when he tragically died on 22 January 1999. The recordings he was working on, have not been released to date, as his wife Lynne, who is in posession of his most recent tapes, is wary of many record companies and their agenda's.
