Tony Terry was a native from Washington, D.C. He was a backing vocalist for groups such as Sweet Sensation and the Boogie Boys before he started his solo-career in 1987. He has also performed live with Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack to name a few. Terry has released three solo albums and has performed on the soundtracks to Gladiators (starring Cuba Gooding) and Tap (starring Gregory Hines). He has appeared on nearly every television program featuring music; usually more than once. In 1991, Terry earned two Soul Train nominations; one for Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for 'With you'. His accomplishments in the recording studio are complimented by a strong charisma on stage and on video. Tony was on tour with a new production of The Wiz that starred Grace Jones, Peabo Bryson, CeCe Peniston, Tasha Scott and others. His role was the Tin Man. Terry's reviews have been outstanding. Although he was originally a recording and performing artist, Terry is not new to musical theater. After he left The Duke Ellington School of Arts, he performed in the holiday musical Black nativity. Not long after that, he was singing and acting as one of the principal actors in the New York City production of Mamma I wanna sing. Tony Terry has also performed as Prince Charming in the New York musical, Sisterella, which was co-produced by Michael Jackson. Terry also starred in Thank God! The beat goes on with The Whispers and Alison Williams and appeared in the touring production of the Michael Matthews play, Fake friends. Terry's 2003 comeback with a new cd proved to be a big disappointment for fans worldwide.
