Vocalist Val Young was a member of George Clinton's Brides of Funkenstein and she also did background vocals for the Gap Band and Roy Ayers. She met Rick James, who got her a record deal with Motown. The two worked together on the album "Seduction", which was released in 1985. Two singles were pulled from the album. The tracks got Val Young a Top 20 and a Top 30 R&B single, but she was unable to ever match that success again.
