Vertical Hold was a three-member band of which the members were Angie B. Stone, Willie Bruno and David Bright. Willie and David used to play in High School groups together, while Angie used to sing with a group called Sequence. After signing to A & M, they worked with Herb Alpert, who also produced their songs. In 1993, Vertical Hold released 'A matter of time', followed by 'Head first' two years later. That second album was recorded in various studios across the U.S. Vertical Hold has often been compared with the UK based band Loose Ends. Vertical Hold split up after their second album.
