Abandze, sometimes referred to as Abandzi, is the location of Fort Amsterdam, built by the Dutch in 1598. The fort waas later rebuilt by the British and renamed Fort York, but in 1665, the Duthc retook it and reverted to Fort Amsterdam.

Nowadays it is sometimes called Fort Kormantin and inscribed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Abandze is on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea in Ghana.
