Akosombo

Akosombo at the southern tip of Lake Volta is a very popular place with expatriates, to spend the weekend. The nearby Akosombo dam provides electricity. The Adomi bridge is also nearby.

There are several hotels and lodges in and near Akosombo. They sell food as well. Akasombo is 90 km northeast of Accra.

In September 2023, there was a spillage at the Akosombo dam and thousands of people were displaced.
