Kaş is a nice town from where boat trips to the sunken city of Simena can be made. Simena is on Kekova Island, where its clear waters provide an excellent view of ruined buildings that have submerged as a result of earthquakes.
The sea around Kaş there is excellent for scuba diving. On Fridays, there's a market and the town also features a Hellenistic theatre.
The best beaches are Kaputaş Plajı, small Seyrekcakil Plaji or Belediyesi Halk Plajı.
In the region are numerous interesting old towns, including Apollonia, Istlada, Isinda, Kandyba, Kyaenai, Nisa, Phellos and Komba in the village of Gömbe.
Kaş offers a wide variety of café, restaurants and hotels. The town is 500 km southwest of Ankara.
