Sekondi-Takoradi comprises of the cities of Sekondi and Takoradi, which have both grown to form one city. Sekondi-Takoradi is the location of Fort Orange. There is not much to see in the city, but since it is one of the main places en route from Côte d'Ivoire you might have to stay there for the night.

The city is on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, 180 km west of Accra. It has many nice beaches, as well as a large seaport. There is a naval base in Sekondi and a lively market in Takoradi.

You can get there by minibus (tro-tro), by taxi or by train. Sekondi-Takoradi is one of Ghana's main railway terminals.

Accommodation is widely available and you can get meals from street vendors as well as from one of the many restaurants.
