Arutanga



Arutanga is the main town on the island of Aitutaki. It is a quiet backwater that boasts the oldest church in the Cook Islands. The 1828 CICC church is also one of the most beautiful in the region. It has stained glass windows and it is decorated with carved wood.

From the end of Arutanga's jetty there are nice views over Aitutski's coastline.

There are several hotels and restaurants in Arutanga, as well as many small shops. Arutanga is 250 km north of Avarua.
