The Bohemian Forest is a large area of unspoilt, lush vegetation that covers the Sumava Mountains along the borders between the Czech Republic and Austria and Germany. The Boubin Virgin Forest is the most pristine forest in the country. There is an abundance of wildflowers and animals that roam the area include deer and numerous bird species.
The Sumava Mountains are the oldest mountain range in the Czech Republic. They are perfect for hiking and trekking and the roads in the region can be explored by bicycle. The main river in the area, the Vltava, can be explored by boat and during the winter skiing is excellent.
Accommodation is available in several towns throughout the Bohemian Forest.
