Bora Bora Island

Many regard Bora Bora to be the most beautiful island in the entire Pacific, because of its large lagoon, the lush volcanic peaks and the chain of sandy beaches, known as motus that line the island's coast. The coral reefs in the tropical island's lagoon are popular with scuba divers and fishers. Bora Bora's interior can be explored on foot, or by using a 4WD vehicle. There are three impressive peaks on Bora Bora, all of which can be climbed. The peaks are 619 m (2000 feet) high Hue, 661 m (2165 feet) high Pahia and Otemanu, which rises 727 m (2380 feet) above sea level.

There are many hotels and restaurants on Bora Bora. The island is 260 km northwest of Papeete.
