Colonia Suiza

Colonia Suiza is a quiet agricultural town that was founded by Swiss settlers in 1862. The settlement produced wheat for the mills in Montevideo. Nowadays it still has a unique European flavor and large parts of Uruguay's dairy products are produced there.

There are several hotels and restaurants in Colonia Suiza. The town is 115 km northwest of Montevideo.
