Dalaba
There are four villages in Guinea called Dalaba, but the one we are describing here is Dalaba on the main route from Mamou to Labé. The town is a perfect place to stay if you want to do treks through the mountains of the Fouta Djallon. Dalaba is also a good basis for visits to the Chûtes de Kinkon waterfalls near Pita, 45 km to the northwest.
The French used the town as a therapeutic center because of its fresh climate. The Centre d'Accueil in the outskirts of town can still be visited.
All traffic between Mamou and Labé runs through Dalaba, so it is easy to get there. There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Dalaba is 200 km northeast of Conakry.
