Dibba is the place where the great historic battles of the Ridda Wars between Muslim armies and tribes that swore allegiance to the Prophet were fought. The last battle was won by the Muslims in 633 AD completing the reconquest of the Arabian peninsula.

Nowadays the town of Dibba is actually three towns on the coast that have grown together into one. A part of Dibba is in Oman, another part in the emirate of Sharjah and the third one belongs to Al Fujairah.

Dibba is a very nice and clean place. There is not much to see in town, but it is just a good quiet place to get away from all the hassle and relax for a while. There is a large area with palm trees in town.

Accommodation and restaurants are available. Dibba is some 60 kilometers north of Al Fujairah and 110 km northeast of Dubai. It lies on the Gulf of Oman making it an excellent place for divers.
