Dixcove

Dixcove is only 25 minutes walking west from Bosua. A gravel path over the hill connects the two towns. There is a colorful port where fishing men are busy handling their catch. Fort Metal Cross was built by the Portuguese in 1691 for the slave trade and has now been beautifully restored.

There are good beaches around Dixcove and there are many places where you can get the towns's specialty, cooked lobster. Dixcove is Ghana's southernmost town and lies 210 km west of Accra. You can get there by minibus (tro-tro) and taxi.
