Elgin

Elgin is a railroad, trade and industrial city that is marked by a steady population growth. Corn and soybeans are grown in the region around Elgin and electrical and electronic equipment, pharmaceuticals and household appliances are manufactured in the city. The Elgin Watch Company was established in 1864 and based in Elgin until 1970. Judson College has its seat in Elgin.

Accommodation and restaurants are available in town. Elgin is on the Fox River in the northeast of Illinois, 280 km northeast from Springfield and 1000 km west from Washington D.C.
